The Obesity group is a binational and multisectoral collaborative team dedicated to identifying and promoting strategies for the prevention/ reduction of obesity and its impact on health. This group created under the Border Health Consortium of the Californias, is focused on identifying best practices for the prevention of overweight and obesity by promoting healthy environments that foster healthy lifestyles in the California – Baja California border region. The goals for the group are:

  • Connect civil society groups, private and public organizations dedicated to providing services to combat overweight and obesity in the Baja California-California border region.
  • Acquiring highest quality information regarding overweight and obesity in the Baja California-California region.
  • Disseminate information regarding programs and interventions for overweight and obesity in the Baja California-California border region to all who may be interested.
  • Planning, organizing, and putting on events, both academic and technical in nature, related to the subject in the region.
